Bruce Snaddon	Mr Bruce Snaddon is a Senior Lecturer teaching Communication Design at graduate and post-‐grad levels in the department of Applied Design, within a faculty that houses eight design disciplines. It is within this environment that he sees his mission to build design curricula that are more awake and relevant to world change. Here presents his faculty on a number of forums that further the aims of design education that is contextual, meaningful and sustainable in the broader community. Increasingly he is involved in establishing partnerships and collaborations for the university that help build toward Cape Town’s World Design Capital 2014 designation. Christo Maritz	Christo Maritz has been involved in the creative industry in Cape Town since 1995. In 2000 he founded Infestation, a design agency specialising in conceptualising communication strategies for a range of companies. His experience as consultant to many local and national institutions on brand development as well as being involved with creating effective online presence has secured him a position on the advisory board of one of the leading Universities of Technology.He has also played a big role in Cape Town’s bid for Design Capital of the Year Award for 2014, including designing the bid book presented to the ICID in Montreal. As one of the founding members of the Cape Town Design Network he represents all the different design disciplines and advocates the use of design as an important tool in solving Africa’s social and economic challenges. Tessa Graaff	Director Montebello Design CentreTessa Graaff founded, and is director of Montebello Craft and Design Centre, a public benefit organization dedicated to creating creative spaces for creative people to work from.The project is the result of a gift to the University of Cape Town almost 20 years ago by a donor, for the purpose of promoting design, and while recognizing that he was ahead of his time, she passionately embraces the idea of design thinking as the new currency for nations that will succeed in the century ahead. She also works extensively throughout the Southern African region with indigenous communities using design and entrepreneurial approaches to creating sustainable livelihoods with craft. She has served on numerous boards in the design education and cultural industries domain, is currently a board member of !Khawattu a cultural heritage and educational centre for the San and sits on the Craft Advisory Panel for the National Arts Council.

Mokena Makeka	Mokena Makeka is the principal and creative director of the award winning Makeka Design Lab, an agile architectural practice that pursues elegant experiential solutions at the digital, physical and psychological scale.
Zayd Minty	Cultural producer, planner and researcher. Zayd currently works for Creative Cape Town where he oversees The Fringe: Cape Town’s Design and Innovation District.Founding Member of the Cape Town Design Network

Shouniez van der Schyff	Shouniez van der Schyff Senior Graphic Designer at Infestation I started at Infestation in 2008 and I was privileged to do work for the World Design Capital Bid. Being proudly Capetonian this was very special to me. Joining the CTDN committee I hope to be able to have an impact on the creative industry. Y Tsai	Owner of Tsai Design Studio, Y. Tsai heads up Tsai Design Studio, a multi-disciplinary design firm in the field of furniture, interior design and architecture. The accolades and awards from the studio include the prestigious, international Red Dot Award and The British Council’s ‘International Young Design Entrepreneur Award’. The Nested Bunk Beds was voted as the “Most Beautiful Object” in South Africa’ at Design Inbaba 2008.
Michael Wolf	Head of Formula D interactive, Michael Wolf is an interaction designer, who moved to Cape Town from Germany in 2003. In 2007 he founded Formula D interactive, an award winning design consultancy specialising in the design of interactive learning environments for museums, showrooms or corporate visitor centres, using cutting edge multimedia technology.After studying Design at Cologne International School of Design (KISD) and École Nationale Superieure de Création Industriélle [ENSCI], Paris, France, he joined MARS – Exploratory Media Lab at the Fraunhofer Institute of Technology, Germany’s equivalent of MIT in the U.S., to work on experimental human-computer interaction focussing on immersive media spaces and tangible interfaces for computer-enhanced learning.He is co-founder of Formlos design studio in Cologne, Germany, a design consultancy specialising in product design. In 2004 Michael and his wife Monique Le Roux founded andulela experience, a pioneering operator for interactive cultural tours in Cape Town.
